The AAB assesses an individual's performance in the main areas of achievement defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA; 2004):

Written Expression
Basic Reading Skill
Reading Fluency Skills
Reading Comprehension
Mathematics Calculation
Mathematics Problem Solving
It is comprised of two forms a Comprehensive Form and a Screening Form. Everything you need to administer either version is printed directly on the forms, making administration and scoring straightforward and easy. In addition, both forms include a convenient Fast Guide to help you get started. Unlike similar measures, the AAB requires no certification or intensive preparation.
The AAB offers age- and grade-based (Fall and Spring) normative data and vibrant, modern illustrations. It was developed using academic standards set by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Teachers of English, Common Core, and Reading First.
